Grandma and Grandpa Embelton

Photo Frame from Kraftyhands Steampunk CD

Just had to show everyone this photoframe made with Kraftyhands new CD Steampunk
I needed images to put inside so I chose some very old photos of my Grandma and Grandad.
They met on a Sunday school picnic and that was it. My Grandma's favourite flowers were violets so I added some to the card. My Grandma started my love of craft, teaching me to sew, embroider and bake.

The CD is fab. I was not really into making Steam Punk cards but the images are so easy to use and everything co-ordinates beautifully.

Kraftyhands November Challenge

Here is my Design Team card for the November Card Challenge. The image and papers are from the Team Santa CD. I just love the spotty backing papers on this CD. The ribbon is silky crush which is a new passion of mine, it ties such lovely bows each time and if you make a mistake when you undo it you dont have nasty crease marks because it is already crushed. The snow flakes are die cut and then glittered. You cannot see but the reindeers noses are glittered in red.

Photo Frame Card

Happy Halloween everyone.
I have had a fab day watching Mike and Ian from Kraftyhands making their debut on Create and Craft. They were great, an original one hour slot turned into a three hour marathon.
This card was one I made for them and was shown on screen.
I decided to make the frame into a card instead of making a stand for it. Also thought that on the inside of the card you could add more pages with photos so it became an album. The roses are bought ones but could have been made. I added pearls round the scallop edge to go with the wedding theme.

Big News

Have not been on here for ages, today I want to share the Big News that Kraftyhands are going to be on Create and Craft tomorrow... This is a sneaky peek of one of the cards I have made with this super CD. The papers and images are lovely so feminine.

Very excited about the two shows they are doing. Will be showing more tomorrow.

Sample made today from Vintage Cars. Sorry the picture is poor. I bought this lovely gold card sometime ago and have been looking for an opportunity to use it as it is has quite an industrial mechanical feel I though it would suit the cars.  I am just getting into using distress inks and am getting more addicted.

I had real fun with this card. I decided to use a few different images of the cars and put them on a double opening A4 card. I printed on lovey pearl paper and added a central embellishment. The car wheels and exhaust are from one of my grandsons old cars. Inside the card it has a large message plate printed from CD.

This is the second sample, pyramid card. I kept it very simple with two destination points picked out in red glitter pen and two silver card candy dots. The red line runs through the sentiment. Used a cutter to cut up the elements and they lined up easily.

Vintage Car Samples

This is one of the card samples I have made. You cannot tell from the picture that it decoupaged.
Very simple to make and the backing brown paper looks real.

Hearts hanger made at Sheena Douglass's workshop

Thought I had better start posting some things I have made. The heart hanger was made at a Sheen workshop I went to in April. It is very easy to make and something to try when starting to use paint fusion. I mistakenly thought that paint fusion would be dead simple as I have been using paint for years, I was so wrong. There is a definite technique which I have yet to master.

The hearts are printed from Sheena's new CD, which has some very good backing paper, well worth getting the CD for them alone. You can get six graduated hears from one sheet and then you need a suitable backing paper. So it would take 3 sheets to make 2 hangings. If you want to add the paint fusion bit you simple paint over some of the petals. The larger daisies are painted, cut out and added.

I think that it would make a lovely birthday, thinking of you, or get well soon card.

Thought that I would add a picture of the main working area in my craft room. Last week it was so hot I could hardly work in there. With windows on two sides it is a very bright airy working space. Only got it started last summer. It may not look it but this is the tidy version. When working I can look out onto my garden and watch the birds.

Have not made anything today but have managed to add my Kraftyhands logo and link.

Getting Started

Well I have got this far with this adventure. In many ways I have not got a clue what I am doing and look at other crafters pages and just think "how clever are they".
I hope as time goes on I will improve.
I am going to place on my page cards and projects I have made and the materials.
