Latest Card

Cannot believe it is May already just seems two minutes since Christmas.

I love the colour combination for this card teal, dusty pink and sand. I had used this backing paper from the Kew collection CD by Kraftyhands before, but used white card for the die cuts. I loved the combination of the teal and white with that card and wondered if the sand shade would work and it did. Really pleased with this card. I decided because it is so symmetrical in design I would not place a sentiment on the outside.

Kraftyhands Blog Challenge April

This months challenge is red, white and blue colours and containing a shield shape.
Sometimes the simplest and plainest card is the answer. Recently at a craft fair a lady looking at my selection of cards said "I don't want something too fussy" and it made me think that sometimes we do to much to a card. So this one is simple and perhaps plain.
To complement the shield shape I chose this shape card with its curves and points in white and 8 inch
To give texture I chose an embossing folder which makes graduated dots. The cute little dog is from the Puppy and Kittens CD. The shield shape is cut from the Scan n Cut
Happy Crafting.

March Kraftyhands Blog Challenge.

For this month the challenge is to use the colours green, yellow and lilac. Also to use a scallop circle in your design.
I love this image of the yellow and lilac coloured tulips and luckily had just purchased some light and dark coloured lavender card at a craft fair.
I used the Floral Fantasia CD choosing the tulip design for decoupaging and matching lilac backing paper.
The circle scallops are ones  I had just got from Tattered Lace, so it was very easy to mat and layer. Sometimes it is hard to find the right size of scallop but these suited the card and I think are going to be very useful.
I used a couple of layers of decoupage to give the flowers some dimension.
The result is very spring like and could be a Mothers Day, Easter or Birthday Card.

February Kraftyhands Blog Challenge.

New idea for the challenges on Kraftyhands using the colours red, pink and cream and the image of hearts.
For the image I went straight to the Femme Fatale CD having used this picture before I knew it would be perfect in the heart shape. The colour combinations were not hard but I did decide to print a background paper from The Romantique Collection CD on cream card to get just the right colour for the cream element. The die I used is a Tonic sentiment.
Happy Valentines Day.
